Sending flowers to a hospital in Florida

Pick the hospital. Each page shows what the hospital itself says about flowers and balloons, where the delivery is handed in, and what to send if fresh flowers are out.

Before you order flowers for a patient in Florida

Three things decide whether a hospital bouquet reaches the bed. First, the unit: intensive care, bone marrow transplant and many newborn units refuse fresh flowers because of infection risk, and that rule is the same whether you order from a local shop or a national florist. Second, the drop-off point: most hospitals accept deliveries at a lobby desk or the gift shop, not at the room, and a volunteer carries them up later. Third, the patient's details: full name and room number, or the delivery sits in the mail room.

Latex balloons are banned in nearly every US hospital because of latex allergies. Mylar (foil) balloons are usually fine. If the patient may be discharged soon, sending to their home a day later is often the safer choice. Our get-well flowers guide covers what to pick and what to write.
