HCA Florida West Marion Hospital opened in 2002 on SW 46th Court in southwest Ocala. It operates as a campus of HCA Florida Ocala Hospital but has its own building, its own address and 262 beds, all in private rooms. It is home to Marion County's only inpatient Orthopedic Joint Care Center and an accredited oncology program.
If you are sending flowers here, there is a good chance the patient just had a hip or knee replaced, or is being treated for cancer. Those two groups need quite different gifts.
What HCA Florida West Marion Hospital (a part of HCA Florida Ocala Hospital) allows
Neither the West Marion location page nor the shared Ocala Hospital visitor policy it links to says anything about flowers, balloons or plants. Without a published rule, the safe move is to call West Marion at (352) 291-3000 and ask about the patient's unit.
Be especially careful with cancer patients. Across many hospitals, oncology units, and any patient with a weakened immune system, are often asked to avoid fresh flowers, potted soil and standing water. That is a general practice, not a West Marion rule, but it is a good reason to ask before you send.

Where the delivery goes
Write the address as HCA Florida West Marion Hospital, 4600 SW 46th Ct, Ocala, FL 34474, so the florist doesn't confuse it with the main Ocala Hospital campus across town. Include the patient's full name, the room if you know it, and your phone number.
Visiting hours under the shared Ocala Hospital policy are 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Joint replacement stays are often one or two nights, so a delivery that lands on discharge day may miss the patient. In that case, send the flowers home and let them enjoy them on the couch. Our same-day cutoff guide covers timing.
If flowers aren't an option
For someone in cancer treatment, a card, a soft throw, lip balm or a good book is usually welcome where flowers are not. If the patient is heading home soon after a joint operation, a meal delivery or a gift card for later may be more useful than anything at the bedside.
What to send to a patient here
Recovering joint patients spend a lot of time walking hallways with a therapist. A small, stable arrangement that fits the private room's windowsill works well, and a card about getting back on the golf course adds a personal touch. For oncology, check first and lean toward cards. Our get-well flowers guide and card wording ideas can help.
