Flower delivery in Tallahassee, Florida

Tallahassee, in Leon County, is the state capital and home to Florida State University and Florida A&M University. That shapes the flower orders: graduations, birthdays for students far from home, and thank-you gifts to state offices, alongside the usual hospital and sympathy deliveries.

People sometimes assume the whole Panhandle is on Central time. It is not. Tallahassee keeps Eastern time, the same as Miami.

The academic calendar drives a lot of local demand. Graduation weekends, move-in days, Mother's Day and the start of the legislative session can make florists busier than usual, and same-day slots fill early. If your delivery falls on one of those dates, order a few days ahead. Students also move often, so confirm the current address and apartment number before you send, especially near the start or end of a semester. For a parent in another state, a bouquet to a student's apartment is a lovely way to mark a birthday or the end of exams; just make sure someone will be home to carry it inside. Government workers can receive flowers at the office too, but buildings may require a visitor check-in first.

Same-day delivery in Tallahassee

For same-day, order before 2 p.m. Eastern time on a weekday. Weekends and holidays have earlier cutoffs and same-day is not promised. Our same-day cutoff guide covers the details.

Dorms: many residence halls do not let drivers go to rooms. Ask the student where packages are received, or send to an off-campus apartment.

Apartments: include building and unit numbers. Student complexes can be large and confusing.

Offices: government buildings may have security at the entrance. Use the recipient's full name and office.

Weather: summers are hot and humid; ask for a hand-off. Hurricane season, until November 30, can bring storms inland.
