Flower delivery in Panama City, Florida

Panama City is the county seat of Bay County in the Florida Panhandle, on the Gulf of Mexico. The thing that trips people up most is the clock: the western Panhandle runs on Central time, not Eastern.

If you are ordering from the East Coast, that hour works in your favor. A florist in Panama City is still taking same-day orders when it is already past 2 p.m. in New York or Atlanta.

The two biggest mistakes people make when sending flowers here are getting the hour wrong and sending to a beach address where nobody is staying that week. Both are easy to avoid. Double-check the time zone on any delivery window you are given, and before you order, send the recipient a quick message to confirm where they will be. If they are a visitor, ask for the property name, since many rentals along the coast share similar street addresses. A florist in Bay County deals with rentals all the time and will usually call the guest on arrival if you give them a mobile number.

Same-day delivery in Panama City

The rule: order before 2 p.m. Central time, which is 3 p.m. Eastern, on a weekday. On weekends and holidays the local cutoff is earlier and same-day is not guaranteed. More in our cutoff guide.

Many homes along the coast are rentals or second homes. Check that the recipient is actually there, and if it is a vacation rental, include the unit number, the property name and a phone number.

Gulf coast heat is hard on flowers. Ask for the bouquet to be handed to a person, not left on a step.

The Panhandle sees its share of tropical weather. During hurricane season, through November 30, storms can close roads and delay deliveries by a day or more.

If the patient might be discharged soon, a delivery to the home is often wiser than to the hospital; our get-well guide explains why. For sympathy, a plant or a modest vase to the family home is a gentle choice, as covered in sympathy flowers.

Birthday flowers to a beach rental are a nice surprise, as long as someone is there to receive them. See birthday flowers. Anniversaries and date nights: romantic flowers.
